Free Medical Camps, Okhaldhunga Region

The people in this remote region lack basic medical care. If someone becomes seriously ill in this remote area, they must be taken to the district town of Okhaldhunga or the capital city of Kathmandu. The locals walk two days to the clinic in Okhaldhunga. It is a two-day journey to Kathmandu by jeep and bus, depending on the condition of the roads in rain or snow. The Nepalese government provides a certain level of care through so-called health stations. A person in charge takes care of basic care. Our annual medical camp offers widely accessible access and provides sick people with free medical treatment and medicine. Mothers can also get a check-up for their babies. The medical team also offers the residents courses on hygiene and health care.

Volunteers also deepen their practical skills in the camp – the common connections lead to further improvement of the upcoming camps.

Your donation enables the necessary treatments at the annual Medical Camp and helps to strengthen prevention. https://himalayaprojekt.net/get-involved/donate/  Please indicate “Medical Camp”.
