Sponsorships for the monk students of the Jangchub Choeling Monastery

On a project trip in February 2013, Dupsing Rinpoche asked us for support for his monks (children and young people). In Nepal, school fees must be paid, which many families cannot afford. The monastery provides the young monks with all the necessities of life (clothing, medical care, food) and is financed exclusively through donations. The living situation of most parents is not sufficient to support their sons financially.

The sponsorships enable the young monks to be trained in Buddhist philosophy and also receive lessons in English, Nepali and Tibetan as well as general knowledge and mathematics. They take exams in all subjects.

The monks often stay in the monastery. However, some of them leave monastic life after completing their training in young adulthood. A good school education is very important in order to find a job or to support their families. We supported this project until 2020.
